Sabelle® Skin and Body Care was born from Matt and Tracey Jones’ commitment to use natural ingredients and their genuine love and care for the environment and the people who use their products. When one of Matt and Tracey’s children was diagnosed with gut and skin conditions, Tracey realised her years of discomfort bore similarities to her daughters. It sparked Matt and Tracey’s search for alternative ways to heal both skin and gut. What they found was they had the answer on the doorstep – the healing benefits of sheep milk and Manuka honey. The name Sabelle has been derived from the Jones’s daughters Annabelle, Samantha and Gabrielle.
Sheep they know well, and New Zealand is synonymous with Manuka honey, but sheep milking was new. So began the journey of sheep milk production and blending the right ingredients to make an ethical product for sensitive bodies. Much like our product we want to be as gentle on the environment as our product is gentle on your skin. While Sheep milk production provides a significantly reduced impact on the environment compared to other similar systems, our fundamental aim is to reduce our footprint on the planet.

Jones Family Farm® has been developed to connect people with and to their food by showcasing where their food comes from and help break down the barriers that the product is from sheep. The caricature will be used to further enhance this.
Not only is sheep milk gentle on tummies, it’s also gentle on the environment – for every litre of bovine’s milk produced, triple the amount of sheep’s milk can be made for the same carbon footprint. It’s lower density farming so it doesn’t produce methane.
Consumers are becoming more educated and aware of the different options available and are actively looking for alternatives with beneficial health properties. Sheep milk is a considered option for those who have difficulty digesting bovine’s milk, with twice the protein of bovine’s milk it is easier to digest. It is also naturally an A2-type milk free from the A1-beta casein protein, which has been associated with digestive discomfort such as bloating, found in some bovine’s milk. With sheep milk containing about a third more energy than goat’s or bovine’s milk, it makes it favourable for high-performance athletes.
For those who get eczema or upset digestive systems from bovine’s milk, sheep’s milk is easier to digest, as it contains A2 type proteins. A cup of sheep’s milk has double the amino acids, protein, fat, calcium, and magnesium to bovine’s milk. It is also high in B12 and folate.
